David and Patricia Giuliani Award 2025

Governor Jay Inslee presented the first annual David & Patricia Giuliani Clean Energy Entrepreneur Award to Kenworth Truck Company. The second award winner was Myno Carbon, and earlier this year the award was earned by Group14.

The fourth award presentation will be at our upcoming Future of Carbon Policy Forum, and nominations are now open.

The award, named after our organization’s founder and his wife, recognizes meaningful advances in clean energy innovation. With so much clean energy innovation in Washington state, this year’s winner will earn significant bragging rights, and follow in the footsteps of three headline makers:

Kenworth displayed its hydrogen fuel cell T680 FCEV at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. According to Kenworth, the truck has up to a 450-mile range, an 82,000 lbs. max gross combination weight rating, and refueling times that are consistent with traditional diesel trucks.

Myno Carbon announced plans to build its first large-scale biochar Carbon Removal Facility in Port Angeles. Currently in the engineering design phase, the facility is expected to come online in a series of staged operations, beginning in 2025 and running through 2026.

Group14, according to Geekwire, recently announced a deal with German battery cell company CustomCells, which will purchase $300 million worth of Group14’s silicon anode product SCC55, for their electric vehicle, aviation and e-mobility battery cells, to enhance performance.
